Out Again - September 2020 Cruise to Oxford

After 6 weeks at home we are keen to get out again on Densie.  Our diaries are clear for the next 3 weeks which we hope will give us enough time to travel south on the Oxford canal to join the Thames at Oxford, and then back on the same route to our marina.

Two hours after getting up this morning the car was packed with clothes for 3 weeks and most  of the food for 6 days which should be sufficient to last us until we get to our first shopping opportunity in Banbury.  Then a 90 minute drive to the marina.  After a quick lunch on board we drove to the nearby Rugby Sainsburys to buy the last of the food.

We will be staying in the marina tonight and so we ran the central heating for an hour or so to warm up the cabin and to heat the hot water.  The cooling water from the engine normally does this but as Densie is connected to the electricity mains on the berth we have no need to run it.

Our intention was to start our journey tomorrow morning but the weather foreast is predicying a lot of rain so we will probably stay here until Friday which promises to be much better.
