Somewhere on the Grand Union Canal

We left the marina at 9:30.  There was a strong cold wind with our waterproofs, bodywarmers, hats, gloves provided only partial protection. But we were finally out on the canals

After travelling down the North Oxford Canal for a.n hour we turned west onto the Grand Union at Braunston.  By lunchtom we reached Napton Junction.  We were intending not to stop for lunch during this trip but with the cold and the wond it now seemed a good idea to stop.  Having moored up  it started to rain, so a good choice.

Having warmed up and eaten lunch we set off again on the GU and descended the 3 Calcutt locks.  Lukily we were able to share these wide locks with another boat which makes life easier.  W emoored for the day at 15:20 out in the countryside about half a mile from the village of Stockton.

Densie moored near Stockton(Warwickshire)

Before going inside the boat I checked whether there had been any water leakage from around the propshaft.  Hooray!- no leakage at all for the first time in nearly 4 years!

4 hours 20 mins cruising, 3 locks, 9.42 miles
